RBUMC Wild About Jesus Survey

We are Wild about Jesus!

We value children and it is our desire to partner with you in the Christian formation and spiritual development of your children. The Bible makes it quite clear that children are uniquely special to God. Your Children’s Ministry staff believes that there are 3 things that will help ensure that children will continue in a life-long relationship with God and the church.

Create your free online surveys with SurveyMonkey, the world's leading questionnaire tool.

1.   The ability to truly and authentically worship God - The glue that sticks kids to Christ, uninterrupted for life, is worshipping God.  Authentically worshipping God comes from truly knowing who God is.

2.  Developing relationships with adult mentors while learning about God – Children are led to Christ through relationships with adult mentors who show and model Christ's love and grace.

3.  Friendships with Christian peers
– Children come to church, especially in the teen years, because of “who else will be there”. We need to develop these relationships now so they stay connected through the teen years.

We strive to reflect these values whether your child comes on a Sunday morning, a Weekday evening or to any of our special events. We help them experience the stories of the Bible in a way that is relevant to their young lives.

We are committed to providing a safe environment where your children can engage in fun activities where they can learn to know God, develop caring relationships with adult mentors, meet new friends and strengthen relationships in a Christian way.

Sunday School             9:45 - 10:40

Join us on Sunday mornings at 9:45 for a time of fun and learning!

Children K-2 meet in the "Cinema on the Mount" room (#218) for a time of Celebration.  During this time, we sing, take prayer requests and praises and taking up an offering.  At 10:00, it's off to class!   Children K-2 meet together in Rm. 235 and children grades 3rd- 5th meet in Rm. 221.

Children newborn-2 years can play in the nursery while the

3-5 year old children have class in Rm. 116.

Children’s Church

After Sunday School, the children can go to the nursery or the

worship service with their parents.   Following the Children's sermon

during the 11:00 worship service, children, ages 3 through

grade 4, have the option of staying with their parents or going

back to the nursery for a children's story time.   During this

time the children sing, have a short Bible story, a craft and free time

to play until picked up following the service.  If you can’t make it to

Sunday School, this is another opportunity to learn about Jesus.

(Children’s church is optional.)

Nursery

Our Nursery is open during each opportunity to worship.  We provide

two paid staff and volunteers at all church services.

Wednesday Nighters     6:30-7:30

Our children’s Wednesday night program is for Elementary children K-5th grade.  We provide a variety of lessons and activities.  On Wednesday after

our meal.  Children have been in school all day and have homework, so we

try to provide a little lighter study than our Sunday Morning lesson.  The Wednesday Nighter programs run with the School calendar. (Sept.- May)

Children’s Missions

Our Children’s Department also reaches out to our own community

providing an Easter Egg Hunt that is community wide with a puppet show, refreshments, crafts and pictures with the bunny. We also provide free

snow cones and popcorn along with a free craft time, and games at an

annual community wide Jubilee every May.  A community wide Fall Festival

with a Chili  Cook-off is another opportunity to serve our community

You're never too young to do the good works of God! Children grades

3-5 will have opportunities throughout the year to participate in

Missions Around Chattanooga. Whether helping members from our

church with needs or helping feed or clothe the homeless, our kids

will be able to share the love of our Lord with others.

Wild About Kids

Wednesdays 3:30-5:30

(Sept. - May)

Today's families have such hectic schedules.   Every minute is

spent rushing to this or that.   This program was developed with the

family in mind. How would it feel to have an evening without worrying

about homework? We want to offer the family a place for children

to go after school to play, have a snack, do homework and

hear about Jesus.  Our goal is to provide the family with one

night a week of quality time together without homework.
(Tutoring is also available upon request)

The children may be picked up at 5:30 or are welcome to stay for our

meal and our Wednesday evening Children's activities.   The meal is

from 5:30-6:30 and the program is from 6:30-7:30. They may be

picked up in the Craft Room. (Rm#236)

Please make arrangements to drop off and pick up your children

at the appropriate times as transportation will not be provided.
Please e-mail or call to register.

This program follows the Hamilton Co.
school year calendar for holidays, breaks
and inclement weather closings.
