but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth." Acts 1:8
Jerusalem- Be a witness for Jesus where you are. The disciples shared the gospel in Jerusalem before going elsewhere. Jerusalem represents your home town.
Judea- Be a witness for Jesus outside your community. The disciples spread out from Jerusalem and began to share Christ throughout Judea. Judea represents the communities, towns and cities near you.
Samaria- Be a witness for Jesus to those who are unlike you. The disciples broke down the social barrier that existed in that day and took the Good News of Jesus Christ to the region of Samaria. Samaria represents those who are unlike you when it comes to social status, language, culture and beliefs.
Remotest Parts of the Earth- Be a witness whereever you can to whomever you can throughout the entire world. The disciples carried the Good News of Jesus Christ throughout the known world. We are continuing uin that tradition and working at fulfilling this great Commission today.
RBUMC Missions in:
Jerusalem
We collect supplies for Red Bank Middle School teachers and students.
We provide baked goods for the teachers and staff at Red Bank Middle School.
We provide gifts for incoming sixth graders and outgoing eighth graders.
We help local people with food, rent, electric bill, water bill, and medication.
Judea
We support many children at Christmas through Operation Christmas Child.
We provide snack baskets for hospital waiting rooms.
Samaria
We support the Community Kitchen in Down town Chattanooga with both money and service. We cook breakfast for them once a month. We collect food and clothing for them.
We provide shelter and meals three times a year for the Interfaith Hospitality Network for the homeless.
We support shoes for orphaned souls.
We support Teen challenge in Chattanooga.
Remotest Parts of the Earth
We support the following Missionaries: The Privatsky's (Turkey), Warden (Red Bird Missionary Conference), the Johnston's (China), Rogers (Mexico), Morgan Scott Project, The Henderson Settlement, Herbert Zigbue (Liberia), Hicks (Japan), and Oswalt (Russia).
We support District on conference special projects.
We support the United Methodist Committee on Relief.
