We realize at RBUMC that people have different needs when it comes to worship. There are those who prefer the hymns, prayers, and liturgy of the Church to be a part of their worship experience. There are others that like a little of both and others who like a more contemporary service with guitars, drums, and base leading us to worship in a more active and energetic way. We try to meet all those worship needs. We have three services on Sunday. Each service is different.
Our 8:40 service is our traditional service. We like to sing the old hymns of the faith that have been tried and tested over the years. The service is more liturgical. We always have a responsive reading, pray the Lord's Prayer and sing from our hymnal. Our Men's Chorus blesses us with some special music each Sunday. The pastor wears a robe at this service.
The 11:00 service is a mixture between a traditional service and a contemporary service. Depending on the Sunday, the service may lean more one way or the other in style. The service is more informal than the 8:40 service. It is a good blend for those who like singing the old hymns and the new praise and worship songs. Our Choir provides the special music each Sunday.
6:00 PM Service
The 6:00 service is our Prayer Meeting. It is very casual. We spend time in prayer with pastor-led prayer, silent prayer, and participant prayer. Music and fellowship are parts of this service. It is a special time which will enrich your life as you pursue your walk with God.
Come and worship with us.
